Hi folks!

Just an update to say that over the long weekend, alas, the tasting room remains closed. We don't see the tasting room opening up at this point until at least June, and we will keep you posted.

We ARE still selling weekly at Moss St. Market, but remember that we need you to hold onto your growlers for the moment until we figure out.a safety plan.

Finally, with the new provincial guidance, we are from next week able to reopen one suite in the bed and breakfast (so folks are there as the sole guests), with contactless check in and picnic basket breakfast. The suite is only open for booking Thursday-Sunday, with a two-day minimum (four-day maximum) booking, and only one booking per weekend. There are no guests booked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday each week to assist in COVID-19 safety and letting that little virus die. We sanitize to OCD standards (and as a winemaker, I'm pretty OCD already on sanitization LOL).

At this time, we are only accepting bookings from South Vancouver Island residents (and that will expand as Dr. Henry's travel guidance evolves, so all you Vancouver (and US) folks, we're happy to welcome you as soon as Dr. Henry says non-essential travel is safe from those areas to the island but not until then, sorry!).

But if you're living here on the south island and the kids are driving you bonkers or you need a romantic celebration weekend, we have a pool and the perfect weekend stay-cation for you. The suite is $275 a night plus tax. Breakfast (picnic style and make your own coffee) is included. We are only able to open up the other suites (up to three) if you are looking for a booking with people in your household and with whom you have already been self-isolating. But if you have kids, we can in theory open the other suites for a single household. In those family situations, the second and third rooms are $200 each, and it's a maximum of two persons per room (total of six per family).

You can find us listed on VRBO (a US site, in USD, heads up) and AIR B N B (Canada site, CDN dollar), if you want to see photos and current available dates, but we do encourage you to make your local reservation with us directly. It saves us both a lot of fees from those booking sites. We are a licensed bed and breakfast in Central Saanich, and please note that our licensing as such does not include guest access to cooking facilities. Whole house short term bookings in Central Saanich (no matter what all those other folks on AIR B N B are doing) are not legal for less than 15 day rentals. There is a fridge for storing your beer/wine (and we have wine on site naturally) and your sandwich fixings, and the local restaurants in Saanichton are doing take out if you desperately need a hot evening meal. We expect social distanced dining options to begin opening in June. Fingers crossed.

Dr. Henry's guidance means that micro-weddings, outdoors, with social distancing, and in groups of not more than twelve people are beginning to be possible again this summer too. For anyone looking for a beautiful micro-wedding venue this summer, including two nights in the bed and breakfast and either a pool-side or vineyard ceremony, please contact us to discuss pricing, availability, and how we all work to follow provincial guidance in all cases.

Finally, the lavender will be coming into bloom soon! We won't be able to offer you-pick this summer unfortunately, but we will have lavender and estate-distilled lavender essential oils coming at our farm stand at the winery in June, along with fresh heirloom vegetables from our gardens at Bannockburn farm and some nursery plantings of lavender and grapevines. Drop us a line or check back here for news of when the farm stand has opened for the lavender season.
